The mission of Kenya Now Organization is to promote better nutrition, education and foundational opportunity for vulnerable children and widows of East Africa through the lens of the Christian gospel. We aim to connect people and resources from vast distances with an ultimate goal to improve the lives of the oppressed and forgotten.

A person once told us, “I see a bus in your future— and that bus has a lot of children on it.” Those words made my wife and I chuckle. So we placed that moment on a memory shelf like an old book and moved on. Eventually our family grew and we became a small family of four.
Fast forward many years and that old dusty book fell off the shelf landing on our lap, opened to a new chapter in our lives (pun very much intended). It’s a story set in Kenya about a New England nurse, a struggling African children’s home during a global pandemic and a desperate plea for better nutrition and sustainable clean water. We can save the details for another time… But the takeaway is that our lives now revolve around— a lot of children.
We believe that every person is called to fulfill a unique purpose. One day, that purpose might even land on your lap. What if landing on this website is that very moment? Join Kenya Now Organization as we strive to better the lives of vulnerable children and forgotten widows of East Africa.
—Dan & Kara, Founders of Kenya Now Organization

Dan and Kara joined hands with Bishop Patroba and his wife Ruth back in 2021. Bishop Patroba is the founder and director of Abundant Mercy of Jesus Ministries. AMJM is a local Christian church in Kitale, Kenya whose mission is to give meaning, a voice and much needed support to orphaned children and widowed women in a region where these society groups are often forgotten, stripped of their possessions and neglected of their basic human rights.
AMJM operates a small children’s home, school and widow’s program. Basic operations are funded by local farming while more robust programming is supplemented by our small organization. It is this partnership that has made the children and women’s programming expand to reach more and achieve more. AMJM’s slogan is “A place where Everybody is Somebody.” We couldn’t agree more.
At its core, poverty is the feeling of powerlessness, shame, incompetence, and worthlessness. We don’t believe money or physical items alone can fix poverty. We believe that prioritizing one’s individual empowerment, mentorship, spiritual well-being, social development, education and economic opportunity is the start to eradicating the vicious cycle of generational poverty.
Research data shows that child sponsorship increases a child's chance of overall success, including positive community engagement, improved income, and more. Our sponsorship philosophy is that every young student involved in the program deserves an equal opportunity for a bright future. Know that your monthly contribution will provide education, essential needs, and a lasting positive impact on every single child in our program.
Kenya Now believes that local ministries are best at fixing local challenges within their own communities. Our partner community leaders have an in-depth understanding of their people's customs, social constructs and needs. Therefore, as outsiders, we assist from a distance in an attempt to avoid unintended harm. Kenya Now arranges low profile annual visits with the sole purpose of building relationships and providing a space for our local leaders to reveal unique needs that we can assist with.
