How does Kenya Now operate in Kenya?
Kenya Now provides resources and support from a distance by partnering with trusted local ministries who already have deep roots in their communities.
Currently, we partner with Abundant Mercy of Jesus Ministries in Kitale, Kenya — a ministry that leads a network of small churches and operates a school and children’s home.
They bring the vision, leadership, and community trust; we help supply the resources needed to break the cycle of poverty.

What makes our school and children’s home unique?
Kenya Now supports two locally managed initiatives in rural Kenya:
Rebirth Academy – a small school offering free education, meals, and uniforms to orphans and local children living in extreme poverty.
Rebirth Children’s Home – a residence providing care, meals, and mentorship for orphaned children who live on-site.
Students continue to receive educational support through secondary school and beyond.
Our Healthy Child Program also covers medical care, helping ensure every child grows up safe and healthy.
How are donations used?
Your donation is allocated to the purpose you select. However, to keep programs running smoothly, the Kenya Now Board of Directors may redirect funds when urgent needs arise.
Sponsorship donations are pooled to benefit all children in the program, covering:
Teacher and staff salaries
Educational materials and school maintenance
Nutrition and healthcare needs
Because donations are promptly used to sustain ongoing programs, they are non-refundable.
Does Kenya Now participate in employer donation matches?
Yes. Kenya Now is registered with Benevity, a major platform used by many companies for donation matching.
If your employer uses another system, email us at opportunities@kenyanow.org and we’ll help you connect.
Does Kenya Now accept stock donations through a Donor Advised Fund (DAF)?
Yes. Kenya Now gratefully accepts gifts of stock, mutual funds, and contributions through Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) such as those managed by Fidelity Charitable, Vanguard Charitable, Schwab Charitable, and others.
If you already have a DAF, you can recommend a grant directly to Kenya Now by searching for our nonprofit name and EIN:
Kenya Now Organization – EIN 93-2862866
When donating appreciated stock or mutual funds, you may be able to avoid capital gains tax while still receiving a charitable deduction for the full fair market value of your gift.
To initiate a transfer or for brokerage details, please contact us at opportunities@kenyanow.org and we’ll provide the simple next steps for your financial institution.

Payments can be made in flexible installments (e.g. $875/month). Students choose their field of study and university within Kenya.
Note: A student may begin once at least $1,750 (two months’ funding) has been received.
For personalized plans, contact Kristen at sponsorships@kenyanow.org.
When will my sponsored student start school?
Kenyan universities operate on a January–December academic year, but enrollment can begin at any time once funding is available.
How often will I receive updates?
Our sponsorship team shares updates twice per year, though timing can vary due to various challenges.
Can I write to my sponsor child?
Yes. Letters mean a lot to the students and are deeply encouraging.
To maintain healthy boundaries, please avoid mentioning money, gifts, or Western luxuries that may feel out of reach.
Send typed or scanned letters to sponsorships@kenyanow.org.
You’ll receive replies from your student or class when available.
Can I start my own fundraiser for Kenya Now?
Absolutely. You can create your own online fundraiser for any Kenya Now initiative.
Our system works like GoFundMe but connects directly to Kenya Now’s programs. After setting up your page, share your link or QR code to start raising support.
